Chenna Jhili recipe is a very popular Orissa cuisine. Â It is very tasty and moreover it is very easy in making. Â Chenna is the basic ingredient in many Indian sweet or dessert recipes. You will love eating chenna jhili. Â This dish is served as Prasad in Jagannath Puri temple in Orissa.
Letâs start with the procedure of making Chenna Jhili.
Ingredients for Chenna Jhili
- Paneer â 400 grams
- Sugar – 2 cup
- Wheat flour â 2 tsp
- Cardamom powder â Â½ tsp
How to cook Chenna Jhili
Firstly we will paneer balls. Â Take paneer and crush or crumble it finely. Â Add cardamom powder, 1 tsp of sugar and 2 tsp of wheat flour in the paneer crumbs. Â Mix all ingredients nicely. Â Mixture is ready, now we will prepare small balls out of it.
Take little amount of mixture (lemon size) in your hand and roll it to give a round shape. Like wise prepare all balls. Â Now we will fry them.
Heat oil in a pan, place balls in pan very gently and fry them till their color become golden brown. Â Fry all balls like wise.If while frying, the balls breaks or splits, take them out and add some more wheat flour and knead the mixture all over again.
Now we will make sugar syrup. Add 2 cup of water in 2 cup of sugar. Â Cook it till we get two thread consistency. Â When the syrup is ready, add paneer balls in the syrup after 2-3 minutes. Â Dip all balls in the syrup for Â½ hour and then serve.
Chenna Jhili is now ready.
